Project Brief

The accommodation was to include four bedrooms with a shared study, two bathrooms, laundry, powder room and a single large open plan kitchen/living area, in addition to a double garage.

 

Design Response

The house is divided into two zones, separated by the entrance hall with generous ceiling height and view to a small courtyard.

The northern zone includes three bedrooms, study and bathroom accommodation.

The southern zone includes master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and walk-through wardrobe, laundry and powder rooms and the main living area of the house.

The living area faces south and has access to a generous deck. The living area also benefits from increased ceiling height following the roof pitch, which adds appropriate scale to this large room as the heart of the house.

A restricted internal materials palette and generous built-in cabinetry provide a sense of calm to the interior.
