Project Brief

The project involved the substantial renovation of a single storey double fronted Victorian weatherboard cottage, and included the incorporation of the adjoining single fronted cottage. 

Accommodation was to provide four bedrooms, study and generous open plan kitchen/living/meals area, together with necessary bathrooms and laundry.

Design Response

The street presence of the houses was retained, and a small upper storey accommodating main bedroom and ensuite was set back to reduce visual impact.

Two bedrooms, laundry and bathroom were accommodated within the adjoining cottage, and the main house extended to provide a further bedroom and study and flowing kitchen, living and meals areas.

The large south-facing deck was provided with bi-fold doors to maximise internal to external connection.
